Over a thousand people are expected to find employment in the Logistics Center E-Commerce, which Amazon plans to open in Gliwice. It will be the eighth such Amazon center in Poland, the largest in terms of area. Recruitment of employees has already begun.
The logistics center in Gliwice is another Amazon investment, after the opening of similar facilities at the beginning of November in Okmiany near Bolesลawiec and in Pawlikowice near ลรณdลบ.
The employees of the new center will be responsible for fulfilling customer orders for small and medium-sized products – including books, electronics and everyday objects.
The area of โโthe Gliwice center – one of the largest in Europe – will exceed 210,000. The developer of the investment is Panattoni Europe. The building will be equipped with Amazon Robotics technology introduced over four years ago, which helps to store products on shelves and complete orders. The system consists of over 3.9 thousand transport robots.
Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014, employing over 16,000 people in seven E-Commerce Logistics Centers: in Sady near Poznaล, Sosnowiec, Koลbaskรณw near Szczecin, Bielany Wrocลawskie (where two company facilities are located), Pawlikowice near ลรณdลบ and Okmiany near Bolesลawiec, as well as at the Amazon Technology Development Center in Gdaลsk and the branch of Amazon Web Services in Warsaw. The company’s data shows that it has invested over PLN 14 billion in Poland, including in logistics centers and research and development.
